Fitriyah Machfud has unlocked the door to better job prospects.

She honed her literacy and numeracy skills in our English, Maths and Digital Skills programme to back an ambition to become an administrator.

Fitriyah, 43, worked as a tax accountant in her home country of Indonesia before immigrating to New Zealand. She turned to Future Skills Academy to enhance her English skills. At the same time, she was working at a sushi restaurant and studying Administration and Technology elsewhere.

All the academy staff were patient and willing to explain things to students, she says. “My teacher Pary was very helpful in supporting my study and work. She supports all students, is a teacher in class and is like a friend outside class.”

Fitriyah says Future Skills Academy gave her a valuable introduction to planning.
