From factory worker to web application developer in just 10 weeks

Dara v2

Factory worker Dara Sanglap was able to make a dynamic web application with an integrated database in just 10 weeks through one of Future Skills Academy’s Software Development micro-credentials.

Dara says she had never worked in the information technology field before but enrolled in the first in our suite of Software Development short courses in the hopes of working her way into the industry.

The Level 5 Introductory Software Development course teaches students to analyse and break down problems and use problem-solving skills to produce functional web applications using the latest technologies.

Dara made a web app for Early Childhood Education providers as part of her course. The web app she designed allows parents to access their children’s information and updates as well as interact with teachers through chat.

“The best part of this course is I learned so much in such a short time and the teachers are very supportive and helpful,” says Dara.

Dara now plans to move into the second micro-credential in the suite – Intermediate Software Development. She hopes to enter the IT industry after finishing that course.
