Taylor Booth admits she has battled with education for years.
But she has thrived achieving the NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Caregiving), Level 2. “I have struggled academically my whole life but I have really blossomed while doing this programme,” she says. “I completed a few courses before but this was the best programme I have done.”
The 33-year-old says she loved the friendly nature of students and staff - especially “my great tutor, Maria. You don’t meet many genuine people like the tutor I had the privilege of working with.” Taylor also admired the way lessons were run. “The best part of studying the programme was the structure of the unit standards. They were put together very well and explained well which helped me to learn a lot better.”
She chose to enrol at Future Skills Academy to follow her dream of becoming a care support worker “as I love helping people. I am waiting to do my practicum then will be looking for employment which I am very excited about!”
Before studying with us, she completed a hospitality course and an adult literacy course as well as working in customer service.
