"The skills and knowledge from the course are helpful for me in handling grade distribution and creating pivot tables and charts, which are parts of my daily work."
Ramon Zamorano was able to upskill with a Future Skills Information Technology micro-credential while travelling the world.
Ramon studied artificial intelligence and machine learning during his Business Intelligence micro-credential.
He says the best parts of the course were the tools provided, the platforms used, and the academic level of the lecturers.
“Having all of this allowed me to continue with the course even when I was travelling. I completed part of the programme connecting from Chile and Brazil.”
Ramon previously worked as an Electronic Security Specialist at Westpac New Zealand. He had some knowledge of data and Python going into the course.
He now works as a Senior Data Analyst and Insights Specialist at Westpac New Zealand. He’s also running his own Data Training Business called Excel in Bi.
“And of course, I am using some of the skills that I've learned in this micro-credential,” says Ramon.
Courses like this micro-credential make a big difference to a CV, says Ramon.
“If you are looking for career growth or a learning challenge, this is a great opportunity. Also, the format of the course makes it so flexible to fit into a busy life. I would definitely encourage anybody with the desire to keep growing to complete one of these courses.”
