Business Intelligence Analysts play a crucial part in the future success of companies. The demand for Business Intelligence Analysts is expected to keep growing to meet the needs of firms and transform the raw data they hold.
Annual demand for IT professionals in New Zealand is 4,000 –5,000 professionals. It is estimated that there will be a demand for around 10,000 new digitally skilled employees in the next two years, while the largest growth will be in data analytics. (The New Zealand Digital Skills Forum, 2021).

You will learn to analyse and evaluate the applicability of data-driven solutions for business contexts considering technical, ethical, and cultural aspects, and to apply exploratory data analysis methods for revealing insights related to a business context. You will learn to visualise and communicate the results to inform decisions in organisations.
For the part-time programme, you will need to spend 15 hours per week.
About half of these hours will be spent in the classroom (online) and half will be spent studying independently.
This micro-credential has a total of 300 learning hours which comprise virtual lessons, self-study, mentoring with industry professionals, interactive activities, and project work.
You will work under the supervision and guidance of facilitators for your virtual interactive activities and project work. The number of hours for these tasks will gradually increase over the term so you can practise and apply what you have learned to your project work.
