The Government has announced a National Day of Action on 16 October in a bid to boost Covid-19 vaccination rates.

Half of the country’s eligible population has been fully vaccinated and more than 80 per cent of those have received at least one dose. The Government is urging the remaining 20 per cent who have not had one dose to get their jab.

The nationwide drive for vaccination will culminate with the National Day of Action for Covid-19 jabs on Saturday 16 October. Vaccine clinics will be open around New Zealand on that day and into the evening. The Government has appealed to political and civic leaders to join the collective effort to draw people to the event.
