Marie Laycock has trained as a Registered Nurse at Auckland Hospital, has taught music, raised children, and run her own business. She has interests in cycling, music, reading, and gardening.
She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences (Professional Health Education), and qualifications in adult teaching. She has worked as a healthcare lecturer, a head of Department for Health, an Academic manager for three organisations, a Quality Leader, and a Quality Manager.
Marie says each learner’s journey should follow a coherent learning pathway, with support and feedback to foster capable and confident graduates.
“The teaching and learning journey should be collegial and respectful as we are all learners and all teachers.”
She is inspired by nature and the prospects of what the future can bring.
